107 Liquor’s latest barrel pick shines a spotlight on one of Tennessee’s fastest-rising whiskey producers — Old Dominick Distillery of Memphis. This exclusive Single Barrel Straight Bourbon clocks in at a bold 122.71 proof, showcasing the intensity and character that comes from six years resting in West Tennessee white oak barrels charred to level #4 — the “alligator char” prized for deep caramelization and complexity.
The mashbill leans heavily into rye at 44%, producing a spice-forward profile balanced by 52% corn sweetness and a subtle 4% malted barley base. The result is a whiskey that delivers bold grain character, rich oak depth, and a long, warming finish that commands attention.
The Old Dominick brand traces its roots back to 1866, when Domenico Canale, an Italian immigrant, founded D. Canale & Co. in downtown Memphis. His company became a regional powerhouse in the distribution of spirits, food, and produce — with the “Old Dominick” whiskey label standing as one of its earliest and most beloved products.
After Prohibition and decades of dormancy, Domenico’s great-great-grandsons Chris and Alex Canale revived the family legacy in 2017 by opening Old Dominick Distillery on South Front Street in downtown Memphis. The modern distillery blends state-of-the-art technology with traditional craftsmanship, producing Tennessee whiskey, straight bourbon, gin, and vodka under the watchful eye of Master Distiller Alex Castle — one of the leading female distillers in the South.
Today, Old Dominick is one of the few distilleries in the region producing, aging, and bottling its own whiskey entirely in-house. Their whiskeys highlight regional ingredients, especially white oak harvested from West Tennessee, which imparts a unique terroir-driven character to each barrel.
This 107 Liquor selection from Old Dominick is a standout example of Memphis craftsmanship — bold, spicy, and full of life. The nose opens with notes of baking spice, toasted oak, and dark toffee, leading to a palate layered with caramelized sugar, cracked pepper, and roasted nuts, finishing long with warm vanilla and rye heat.
A whiskey this expressive is best enjoyed neat or with a splash of water to unlock its full depth. Every sip reflects both the Canale family’s 150-year legacy and 107 Liquor’s dedication to curating exceptional barrels for Arkansas whiskey lovers.
This single barrel is more than just another high-proof bourbon — it’s a bridge between two states, two histories, and two families dedicated to craftsmanship. From Memphis to Arkansas, the Old Dominick x 107 Liquor release is a bold reminder that Southern whiskey is thriving — one carefully chosen barrel at a time.
