Purspirit Liquor is a large Fayetteville retailer, but its growing private-barrel program and involvement with Arkansas whiskey groups are what have increasingly put the store on our radar.
The store has been behind or involved with a steady run of noteworthy bourbon and rye releases, including high-proof Jack Daniel’s, Green River, Maker’s Mark, Elijah Craig, Larceny, Old Forester and other selections. That activity gives Purspirit a role beyond simply stocking allocated bottles.

Purspirit + Arkansas Barrel Heads
A relationship that led all the way to Louisville
One of Purspirit’s strongest whiskey connections has been its work with Arkansas Barrel Heads. In February 2026, members of the group joined Purspirit for an Old Forester barrel-selection experience in Louisville.
The trip began with the goal of selecting a 100-proof Black Label barrel. After making that choice, the group also tasted a barrel-strength selection they believed was too good to leave behind. Both barrels ultimately made their way back to Arkansas and became two of Purspirit’s most notable 2026 whiskey releases.
The Tasting Bar
Sometimes you can taste the barrel first
Purspirit has opened select private barrels and special releases for in-store sampling. When the 134.4-proof Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Barrel Proof pick arrived, customers could sample the whiskey at the tasting bar before purchasing a bottle.
Sampling availability varies by release; not every bottle or private selection is necessarily available to taste.
