1893
Emory John and Robert Gideon Macon opened an apple-brandy distillery near the Bentonville square. The operation eventually produced as much as 600 gallons per day and 215,000 gallons per year.
1914
Brandy production came to a halt in late 1914 as statewide prohibition approached. The original distillery later became associated with apple-cider-vinegar production.
Modern revival
A Northwest Arkansas group revived the historic name and partnered with Falling Rock to produce apple brandy again in Arkansas using regionally sourced apples.
