Legacy Wine and Spirits has added another high-proof private barrel to Little Rock’s whiskey calendar. The Chenal-area retailer announced the arrival of its latest Knob Creek pick on August 26, 2026, calling the barrel “Legacy’s Knob – Handle With Care.”
The bottle is a Knob Creek Single Barrel Select Cask Strength Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey carrying a 10-year age statement and bottled at 122.2 proof, or 61.10% ABV. Legacy’s customized label identifies its aging location as Warehouse W, Floor 3, Rick 21.
The barreling and bottling dates tell an even more precise story. This whiskey entered the barrel on March 18, 2016 and was bottled on July 17, 2026, a span of approximately 10 years, 3 months and 29 days. Why Cask Strength Matters
This Is the Newer Knob Creek Cask Strength Single Barrel Program
The words “Cask Strength” distinguish this release from the familiar Knob Creek Single Barrel Reserve bottled at a standardized proof. In May 2025, Suntory Global Spirits announced an expanded Knob Creek Single Barrel Select Cask Strength program that bottles the selected whiskey directly from the individual barrel with no water added.
Suntory described the bourbon selections as uncut and unfiltered and said barrels in the program generally fall in roughly the 110-to-130-proof range. Legacy’s barrel landed at 122.2 proof, meaning the proof is part of this individual barrel’s identity rather than a target shared by every retailer selection.
At 122.2 proof, “Handle With Care” is not simply a 120-proof Knob Creek store pick with a new label. It is an individualized cask-strength barrel.
Knob Creek’s own Single Barrel Experience says its private selection program uses whiskey aged for a minimum of nine years and provides customized barrel information that helps buyers trace the selected whiskey’s age and warehouse location.

The warehouse information may be the most interesting detail on the label after age and proof. The James B. Beam Distilling Co. has publicly discussed Warehouse W through its Hardin’s Creek Warehouse Series, describing it as a five-floor, nearly century-old warehouse at Clermont in a creekside location with relatively humid conditions.
Legacy’s barrel rested on Floor 3, around the middle of that five-floor structure. Warehouse position can influence maturation, but the address alone should not be used to invent tasting notes. What it does give us is unusually precise provenance: Warehouse W, third floor, Rick 21.

Legacy Listed the 10-Year Knob Creek Pick at $74.99
Legacy’s online store listed the 750 mL bottle at $74.99 when the release arrived. That is only $5 above the $69.99 suggested retail price Suntory announced when the updated Cask Strength program debuted in 2025.
Legacy also told customers they could taste the barrel before buying. Pricing and inventory can change quickly with a one-barrel release, so anyone making a special trip should verify current availability directly with the store.
