The Bourbon Legends have announced a new Pot-Still Wheated Whiskey barrel pick from Old Glory Distilling Co. — and this one comes with a hard deadline.

Described as “grain-forward, creamy, and unapologetically honest,” this hand-selected barrel highlights wheated whiskey the way it was meant to be: expressive, balanced, and rooted in traditional craftsmanship.

What Are “Muled” Bottles?

In the whiskey community, a “muled” bottle refers to a bottle that is transported by a trusted individual — often a group member or volunteer — from the distillery to a designated pickup location.

Rather than shipping directly from the distillery to each buyer, a group member acts as the “mule,” bringing bottles back for distribution within the group. This approach is common with private barrel selections and limited releases where direct shipping options may be limited or cost-prohibitive.

For this release, muled bottles will be coordinated for pickup in Little Rock and Memphis.

Tasting Notes

The Nose

Soft and inviting right out of the glass. Sweet grain leads the way — fresh wheat bread, honey, and vanilla cream — followed by warm caramel, light oak, and a hint of baked apple. Subtle notes of cinnamon stick and toasted marshmallow round it out.

The Palate

Smooth and balanced with a distinctly grain-forward character. Creamy wheat sweetness up front gives way to butterscotch, caramelized sugar, and gentle baking spice. The pot-still influence brings a rich, rounded mouthfeel with a slightly rustic depth — never harsh, always intentional.

The Finish

Medium-long and satisfying. Sweet oak, vanilla, and soft spice linger, fading into a warm, slightly nutty wheat note with just enough tannin to remind you this whiskey earned its place in the barrel.
