Nearly two years after the original BCA “IN” post announcing a Single Barrel Añejo Corazón Tequila, the moment has finally arrived. BCA’s private barrel — aged in used Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels — is officially releasing this December.

This is a BCA-only release and is currently available exclusively to BCA members.
No public availability. No open retail release. Membership in BCA is required to participate.
All additional details — including pickup information, bottle limits, and pricing — will be announced directly on the BCA Facebook page.
What began as an Añejo pick has now turned into something even more special.
When BCA selected this barrel almost two years ago, it legally qualified as an Añejo Tequila, meaning it had between 1 and 3 years of barrel aging.

In a Facebook post dated September 24, 2021, Bourbon Club of Arkansas (BCA) outlined the early plan behind this release as part of a Buffalo Trace barrel pick. The post noted that demand would exceed supply and that bottles would be allocated via a randomizer (one entry per household), with the bottle price set at $45 and $15 from each bottle supporting two charities: the Arkansas Army National Guard Association and the Arkansas Air National Guard Association.
Most notably, BCA shared that once the Buffalo Trace barrel was emptied, the plan was to send the barrel to Mexico so Corazón could use it to age tequila for two additional years — creating a unique crossover release rooted in both bourbon and agave traditions.

Corazón Tequila is produced in the Highlands of Jalisco at Casa San Matías, operating under NOM 1103. Founded in 1886, the distillery is one of Mexico’s oldest family-owned tequila operations.
Corazón’s partnership with Buffalo Trace — particularly through its Expresiones series — has gained worldwide attention for the way iconic whiskey barrels influence premium tequila.
This private BCA member-only barrel represents a rare intersection of:
