107 Liquor’s latest single barrel release brings the full-bodied flavor that Knob Creek fans have come to expect — a classic high-proof Kentucky bourbon selected for its balance of sweetness, spice, and oak. Bottled at 120 proof, this cask strength expression showcases the power and depth that makes Knob Creek’s Single Barrel Reserve one of the standout offerings in the Beam portfolio.
Each single barrel bottling of Knob Creek is hand-selected for its distinct personality. While the standard Knob Creek profile leans heavily into caramel, toasted nuts, and charred oak, store picks like this one often reveal unique nuances — sometimes heavier on vanilla and brown sugar, other times richer in tobacco and baking spice. 107 Liquor’s selection promises a bold, flavorful pour meant to be enjoyed neat or with a splash of water to open up the depth of the barrel.
Knob Creek was first introduced in 1992 as part of Jim Beam’s Small Batch Bourbon Collection, alongside Baker’s, Basil Hayden’s, and Booker’s. The brand was created under the direction of Booker Noe, Jim Beam’s sixth-generation Master Distiller and grandson of the legendary Jim Beam himself. Booker designed Knob Creek to return bourbon to its pre-Prohibition strength and character — full-flavored, high proof, and patiently aged.
The name “Knob Creek” is a nod to a small waterway in Kentucky near Abraham Lincoln’s childhood home, symbolizing both heritage and authenticity. True to that inspiration, Knob Creek is known for its rich, old-style flavor and heavy oak influence, thanks to extended aging in deeply charred American oak barrels.
Knob Creek is produced at the Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont, Kentucky — one of the most famous bourbon distilleries in the world. The brand and distillery are owned by Beam Suntory, a global spirits company headquartered in Chicago and a subsidiary of Suntory Holdings Limited of Osaka, Japan.
Today, Knob Creek remains one of the cornerstones of the premium small-batch bourbon movement, continuing the Noe family tradition of craftsmanship. The brand lineup includes the 9 Year, 12 Year, 18 Year, and Single Barrel Reserve expressions, each offering a different interpretation of Knob Creek’s classic flavor profile.
With its 120-proof punch and single-barrel uniqueness, the 107 Liquor Knob Creek pick exemplifies what makes private selections so rewarding — a personal touch on a timeless bourbon. Each barrel tells its own story, and this one adds another chapter to Knob Creek’s rich Kentucky legacy.
