The Bourbon Club of Arkansas (BCA)<\/strong> has announced its next barrel selection\u2014an 8-year-old 1792 Full Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey<\/strong> drawn from Warehouse G<\/strong> at Barton 1792 Distillery<\/strong> in Bardstown, Kentucky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selected from four barrels during an on-site tasting, this pick reflects BCA\u2019s long-standing preference for bold, uncompromising whiskey. The chosen barrel came out of the rickhouse at 134.1 proof<\/strong> and was bottled at 125 proof<\/strong>, meeting the legal definition of Full Proof<\/em> and preserving the barrel\u2019s full character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cIt was a chilly 31\u00b0 Tuesday morning and the air was full of aging whiskey in the ancient rickhouse at Barton 1792 where four barrels were presented to us for selection. We quickly realized that to truly pick out the best barrel possible for BCA, we would have to move the selection process into a more temperate climate.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Whiskey, as it approaches freezing, gets cloudy and extremely viscous, and the nose and palate would be greatly affected. The team quickly gathered up our samples and moved into the gift shop and \u2018official\u2019 new tasting room. Once our hands, nose, and other senses came back to us\u2014and the whiskey warmed back to room temperature\u2014we reconvened and began the selection process.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
