The Bourbon Club of Arkansas (BCA)<\/strong> has announced its newest single barrel selection, traveling to historic Holladay Distillery<\/strong> in Weston, Missouri, to secure a standout Soft Red Wheat Bourbon<\/strong> chosen directly by club members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside the BCA Barrel Pick at Holladay Distillery<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The BCA selection team\u2014David Chaloupka, Jeff Franzetti, Sam Rad, Tim Payne, and Hunter Thomasson<\/strong>\u2014made the trip to Weston for the pick. From the outset, the visit reflected Holladay\u2019s reputation for hospitality and professionalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the visitor center temporarily closed, Holladay hosted the tasting inside their executive offices<\/strong>, centered around a striking 30-foot bar<\/strong> surrounded by offices on all sides. This setting allowed for an unusually focused and relaxed tasting experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the session, the group sampled multiple variations of Soft Red Wheat Bourbon<\/strong>, guided directly by both Master Distillers<\/strong>, each providing insight into barrel placement, aging conditions, and flavor development. Adding to the experience, Holladay\u2019s CEO personally joined the group<\/strong>, reinforcing the distillery\u2019s commitment to collaboration and transparency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeff Franzetti noted that while the group tasted 7- and 8-year-old barrels<\/strong>, the final BCA selection ultimately outperformed them. He also remarked that although the well-known Bardstown pick\u2014one of his earliest BCA selections\u2014remains a favorite, this Holladay barrel exceeded it in overall balance and character<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
